Fashion Design Graduate Joins MLA

We are delighted to welcome fashion degree graduate Lauren Dodd to work with the design team at MLA.

Lauren impressively received a First Class Honours for her BA (Hons) Fashion Design and Production course. She had already done some work with MLA during her second year on the course, when she worked with Joy Lupton to produce a ladies fashion jacket. Her design won out of all the students in the year.

Lauren, said: “I feel very fortunate for the opportunity to walk straight into full time work to gain invaluable experience in the industry. I am settling in well with the team and starting exciting projects within the business.

“Although this is completely different to what I am normally used to designing, it is a new challenge and I am learning new skills everyday.”

She also won the Merchant Taylors Award for her final collection. She took part in a presentation at the mediaeval Merchant Taylors Hall where Lauren received a cheque from the Master of the Guild.

Michael Lupton, said: “We are very pleased to welcome Lauren. She came to our attention last year with her winning work on fashion garments. We followed her closely through her final year and I am pleased that she has been rewarded with a First for all of her hard work.”

Lauren has also been asked if the pictures from her lookbook, could be used on the set of a new film,” Everybody’s Talking About Jamie.”
